Panelists
Kalen Cookson, DVM, MAM, DACPV, director of clinical research, Zoetis
Dr. Cookson specializes in providing technical services for broilers, breeders and layers, alongside extensive international experience across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. His expertise lies in vaccination programming and disease management for all poultry production systems. Currently, he focuses on applied research studies to enhance the Zoetis poultry portfolio, including products such as Poulvac E. coli, ST and SE; Myco F, IB vaccines, and Maternavac. He holds a DVM from North Carolina State University, a master of avian medicine from the University of Georgia, and a bachelor of science in psychology from Duke University.
Elizabeth Krushinskie, DVM and Ph.D., senior technical advisor and owner, Food Safety Risk Management Consulting LLC
Dr. Krushinskie has provided consulting services for several animal health and nutrition companies in poultry health and foodborne disease control for the past six years. Previous positions include director of technical services, Allen Harim LLC; director of technical services, Ingham’s Group; and director of quality assurance and food safety, Mountaire Farms. She earned a DVM degree from Colorado State University and a Ph.D. in Veterinary Microbiology from the University of Minnesota.
Arjun Ganesan, CEO, Ancera
Arjun Ganesan founded Ancera in 2012 after graduating from the Yale’s Masters in Business Administration program. Arjun serves as the company’s CEO, overseeing daily operations and Go-to-Market. His mission to revolutionize the productivity and safety of the US food supply chain is motivated by a deep passion for biotech innovation and food security.
Bill Potter, Ph.D., poultry food safety and processing extension, University of Arkansas
Dr. Bill Potter recently joined the University of Arkansas as Food Safety and Processing Extension Specialist and Poultry Federation Chair in Poultry Science. Prior to that, Bill was a poultry industry leader with stints at ConAgra Poultry, Advance Foods, George’s Inc. and Elanco Animal Health. His initiatives in food safety have made impacts at the local, state, and national level. Bill holds a BS in Animal Science, with an MBA from Texas A&M. He also obtained MS and Ph.D. degrees in Poultry Science from University of Arkansas.
Terrence O’Keefe, WATT Global Media
Terrence O’Keefe began his association with the poultry industry in graduate school and has been working with and writing about poultry for 36 years. In his role as content director at WATT Global Media, O’Keefe leads a team of 24 reporters, editors and artists who cover the world’s poultry, animal feed and pet food industries. He has written for and edited publications covering the broiler, turkey and egg industries. Prior to joining WATT, he worked for broiler and turkey companies in variety of live production and processing roles including serving as manager for broiler and turkey slaughter and deboning plants. O’Keefe earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at the College of William & Mary, a master’s degree in poultry science at the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA at James Madison University.
